Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do the glaze colors on the web site accurately reflect the real color of the glazes.

This depends upon the quality of the monitor you are using. Most newer monitors (not laptops) will display the color correctly. The photographs of the glaze are extremely accurate.

Please keep in mind that glazes naturally shift color during the firing process. Looking closely at the photos of the pet urns on the site, you will be able to see the variations in color that occur. Matte glazes will have less color shifting. Reflective glazes tend to have more variations.

Example: On the Glaze Color page, roll your curser over the glaze you are interested in and a photo of a pet urn glazed in that color will appear on the left.

Q: Do you accept orders online?

At this time, we only accept phone orders. Although we keep many pet urn styles in stock on our shelves, we glaze pet urns when orders are placed. We feel that it is best to talk with our clients prior to filing orders so we can give them an indication of how long it will take to complete and ship their order. In most cases, pet urns are shipped within 2 weeks of the initial order date.

Q: What is the best way to seal the pet urn after the ashes have been added.

We recommend using super glue or epoxy.

Q: Is it easy to transfer the ashes into the pet urn?

We recommend that you use a funnel to transfer the ashes. Transfering ashes can often be an emotional process. We recommend that you ask a friend or family member to be present.

Q: I want to purchase two of the exact same pet urns. Can I expect these urns to match?

If you plan to place two or more pet urns side by side, please let us know when you place the order. We will pick the closest matching pet urns for you.

Cone Six pet urns are hand-thrown using white stoneware. We do not use molds. As a result, each urn is an original and variations are present. We strive to produce urns which exactly match the styles indicated on the web site.

Q: Where can I see the urns in person?

Cone Six has a showroom available to customers in Portland Oregon. Please contact us to schedule an appointment to visit the showroom.

Cone Six often has a booth at both Dog and Cat shows in the Northwest area. We post information about upcoming events we plan to attend on the web site.
